(The Mission Times Courier, San Diego, Ca) The Patrick Henry High School Marching Patriots held their annual fall pancake breakfast at the San Carlos United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 12. The PHHS Band was able to raise over $1000 thanks to the generosity of the local community. The Lake Murray Kiwanis cooked pancakes and sausages and the band boosters and students served breakfast from 8:00am to 11:00am. Fire Station 34 showed their support by participating and enjoying the food.
The Patrick Henry High School Patriots' marching season starts in August and ends in mid November. In the winter an spring seasons they perform as a concert band. The organization holds fundraising events throughout the year so they can participate in local parades and field shows. These funds enable the Marching Patriots to have woodwind and percussion coaches, maintain uniforms, and cover other expenses. The fundraisers also ensure that all students are able to participate and receive the finest in instrumental music instruction.
The Patrick Henry High School Band is grateful to the community and to the local Kiwanis organization for their continued support. For more information on upcoming performances, competitions and fundraisers, please visit www.spiritof76boosters.com.
