Navajo Canyon Republican Women News
(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA)  A very busy and exciting new year began for Navajo Canyon Republican Women, Fed. at their January meeting where April Boling presented the pros and cons of the February ballot issues on Indian gaming issues, term limits for state office holders and the gas tax. A lively discussion followed when members were given the opportunity to speak on behalf of their favored presidential candidates in the primary election.

Since our February meeting falls on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, we will be honoring him as the man whose courage and determination saved the Union, freed the slaves and, incidentally fathered the Republic-an Party.   Our speaker will be Lorie Zapf, President of San Diego County Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse and co-chair of San Diegans for City Hall Reform. We hope you will join us for this at The Brigantine Restaurant on Tuesday, February 12 at 11am. Cost of the luncheon is $17. Please RSVP to Jodi at 448-2922.

NCRWF generally meets the second Tuesday of each month at The Brigantine Restaurant in La Mesa, just off Rte 8 at the Fuerte exit. The meetings are called to order at 11 am, with a full-course luncheon at noon and featured speaker at 12:30pm. The meetings adjourn by 1:30pm. Special events are planned throughout the year including an October Fashion Show and December Christmas party which are not held at the Brigantine. No regular meetings are held in July and August. We are also active registering voters and, in election years such as 2008, we support the election activities of the San Diego County Republican Party.

Our club draws together Republican women of all ages and walks of life to positively impact the direction of our community, state and nation. We'd love to have you join us! Call our Membership Chair, Dianna Stansbury at 669-6500 (email:bikerdi@earthlink.net) for more information. Annual dues are $30.
