The next Friends of the San Carlos Library book sale will be Saturday, May 2, from 9:30am to 3:30pm. A wide selection of books is always available to interest students and seniors. Visit the San Carlos Friends on their new website! The address is: http://www.sancarlosfriendsofthelibrary.org /

The community room was part of our refurbishing. It is now bright and clean with a fresh coat of paint and new flooring. Please come by and enjoy the art, speakers and programs that we have lined up for your enjoyment. It's all free! The following artists' works are on exhibit in the community room:

April: Walt Thomas 4/6-4/30: Reception: April 19, 2-4 pm.
May: Omar Nicieza 5/4-6/4 Reception May 17, 2-4 pm.
June: Ruth Benjamin 6/8-7/2, A free book of her poetry "Endangered Species Observer," will be given to the first 25 persons attending her reception. She will give a short poetry reading at 3:00pm. "A Celebration of Nature's Gifts," which is an excerpt from her book. Reception: June 14, 2-4:00pm.

Preschool/Toddler Storytime: every Tuesday at 10:00am
Speaker Events:

April: Keith Burke from Oasis speaking on "Introduction to Dream Interpretation" Wednesday, April 29, 7pm.

June: Alissa Messian: "On the Go: Transportation Solutions for Older Adults." Wed. June 24, 7:00pm. This is a program of the Jewish Senior Services Council delivered by Jewish Family Service of San Diego. For more info. go to www.jfssd.org .
