Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) announced that Governor Schwarzenegger signed four of her bills into law, which focus on protecting the San Diego River and open space in the City of San Diego, granting property tax relief to registered domestic partners, and building a new Dept. of Motor Vehicles office in Hillcrest.

(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA)  The Senate passed two global warming reduction bills sponsored by Sen. Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) on June 4, measures that would result in more hybrid vehicles and cleaner fuel being sold in California.

(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) Sen. Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) appeared May 30 before federal environmental officials, requesting a waiver for California to implement its strict emission standards for new cars and light trucks sold in the state beginning with the 2009 model year.

Sen. Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) asked U.S. Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer May 18 to allow state environmental laws to apply to the proposed toll-road expansion through San Onofre State Beach Park in northern San Diego County.  Current federal law exempts the State Route 241 project from such state review.

After last year's failed ballot measure to locate a new international airport at Miramar, city residents expressed frustration with the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.  People could not understand why the authority selected Miramar as the site for a new airport when the military and area residents vehemently opposed such a move. The ballot measure handily lost.

Senator Christine Kehoe’s (D-San Diego) reform of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority advanced May 17 when the Senate approved Senate Bill 10 with bipartisan support, which would eliminate the $172,000 salaries of three authority board members.
